Dr. Naveed Hussain from Chennai, Tamilnadu, India, has carved a distinguished career path as a researcher, academician, and mentor. His academic journey began at Vana Vani Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, located within the Madras IIT Campus, Chennai, where he completed his matriculation in 1981 and continued through his intermediate studies, graduating in 1983.

His pursuit of knowledge led him to PSG College of Technology, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy in 1987. Equipped with a solid foundation in materials science, Dr. Hussain further honed his expertise by pursuing a Master’s degree in Materials Technology at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, graduating in 1990.

Driven by a passion for research and innovation, Dr. Hussain embarked on his Ph.D. journey at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, under the guidance of Professor Emeritus P. Ramakrishnan. His doctoral research focused on the processing and characterization of Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs), a field with wide-ranging applications in automotive and aerospace industries. During this time, Dr. Hussain’s work not only advanced the understanding of MMCs but also led to the development of novel manufacturing processes and equipment.

With a Ph.D. in hand, Dr. Hussain emerged as a leading authority in the field of materials science, particularly in the domains of MMCs and renewable energy. His research interests expanded to include the manufacture and characterization of MMCs for various industrial applications, the development of specialized manufacturing processes, furnaces, equipment, and control panels for laboratories and small-scale industries, and the harnessing of renewable energy with a focus on solar energy.
