AC Machines Laboratory

The AC Machines Laboratory is to expose students to the concepts of single-phase and three-phase transformers, synchronous and asynchronous machines, and analyze their performance. The starting and speed control of three-phase induction motors and single-phase induction motors are also studied.

AC Machines Laboratory consist of the following Equipment’s for practical and analysis such as

  • Synchronous and Asynchronous three-phase Alternator for generation of electricity
  • Synchronous motor
  • AC series motor.

DC Machines Laboratory

The department possesses well equipped DC Machines Lab. The objective of DC Machine Lab is to provide the students in-hand experience of D.C Machines. Lab also contains different measuring instruments which are useful to understand the different parameters of the machines under different conditions.

DC Machines Laboratory consists of the following Equipment’s for practical and analysis such as

  • DC Shunt Machine Set
  • DC Shunt Motor.
  • DC Shunt Motor with BDA.
  • DC Series Motor with BDA
  • Stroboscope
  • Digital Contact Type Tachometer.

Power Electronics Laboratory

Power electronics is the application of solid-state electronics to the control and conversion of electric power. Generally used in modern industrial applications for voltage control and various other applications

  • Single Phase Fully Controlled Converter.
  • 1 Phase Fully And Half Controlled Converter.
  • Single Phase Cascade Inverter

Each experimental bench is equipped with variable AC and DC power supplies with adequate protections, which enables students to carry out the experiments in an electrically safe environment. The lab is equipped with energy meters, power meters, voltage meters, ammeters, various sizes and types of transformers, various types of power cables.

EMI Lab Consist of The Following equipment’s for Practical Analysis such as

  • Measurement of Three-Phase Power Using Two Wattmeter method.
  • Measurement of Three-Phase Power Using One Wattmeter method.
  • Measurement of Three-Phase Power Using Three CTs & Two Wattmeter method.
  • Study of Maxwell Bridge.

The Basic Electrical Laboratory is utilized for performing experiments related to the fundamentals of Electrical & Electronic Engineering. This lab covers all the basic devices that serve as the most basic building block of almost all electrical & Electronics Devices. 

The experiments are designed to expose students to the practical execution of electrical Engineering.

BEE Lab Consist of The Following equipment’s for Practical Analysis such as

  • Verification of Kirchhoff’s Law Trainer Kit.
  • Thevenin’s Theorem Trainer Kit.
  • Superposition Theorem Trainer Kit.

Power Electronics Laboratory

Power system deals with electrical energy generation, transmission, and distribution. Power system laboratories play an important role in Electrical Engineering to utilize electrical energy efficiently. Power systems and network lab equipment are used to analyze the performance of power systems and their networking.

NA/PS Lab consists of the following Equipment for Practical Analysis such as

  1. Transmission line Training Kit
  2. Dc motor Generator set for Zero, negative and positive sequence impedance calculation
  3. Synchronous motor

Microcontroller lab deals with the interfacing of hardware with computer Software. It’s helpful for the performance of various software-based experiments in different subjects of the Electrical Branch. This lab provides hands-on experiments to infer input-output devices with computer simulation

Switchgear & Protection Laboratory

In this SGP Laboratory testing of switchgear is performed on kits, also relay characteristics. Testing of conductor and testing of fuse /MCB is performing through experimental panels.

PLC and Control system Lab is presently composed of hardware-based and software-based experiments. This lab plays an important role to make the students understand how the simulation takes place. After simulation, it is easy to implement it on hardware.
