Central Library

All Central Library operations are computerized using Library Management Software In keeping with the vision and mission of the institute, the library has been established in 2012. The central library has Books store, Periodical (Journals) section, E- Library and Reading section for Boys and Girls separately, reading room well-furnished and provide conducive environment for study with 203.3 carpet area from total carpet area 456.22of central library.

The Central Library has rich collection of Text Books, Reference Books and Periodical (journal) in a form of hard copies. The Library follows open access system, it is fully automated library function with OPAC for the users. The Institute has a Membership and subscription of NDLI, E-Shodh Sindhu, Delnet and J Gate which provides the online access to various learning resources such as audio-visual, text, e-journals and e-books resources.

E- Library equipped upgraded computers with internet facility. It is equipped with NPTELs (Swayam) audio-video lectures, CDs, etc. of engineering course. central library  has taken a step forward towards the establishment of an NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) Local chapter. Various open source website highlight in E-library  for reaching study materials. The Central Library has a provision of spacious reading room with CCTV cameras installed reading room seating capacity of 100 students . Separate Newspaper reading section with daily newspaper.

Library SERVICES

1. Circulation

Circulation section is the gateway between users and collection so it plays a major role to any Library and Information System. Library Circulation Section performs issue, renewal, return of books by using Soul library management software. Apart from these basic tasks many other jobs like membership registration, issue no-dues certificate, inter library loan, overdue fine collection, book reservation, etc. and all kind of queries by the users are being performed by this section.

2. Reference and consultation

The Library is always ready to provide personal assistance or reference service to its readers.It helps to search and retrieve the information required to readers from various sources of information by providing reference service.

3. Electronic Document Delivery Service (EDDS)

Library is also provide EDDS service by accepting e-mail request that contains Research topics or keyword and citations for full text papers from subscribed e-resources available in library.

4. Library User Education Program

Beginning of new academic year, Library organize Education programme for first year students. This programme helps students familiarity with online resources, OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog), reference sources for research. Students are introduced with the collection and its location within the library by the library staff and faculty.

5. Newspaper Clipping Service

The news from various newspapers are also clipped by library to provide current information related or about UGC, universities and other institutes of parent organization with management.

6. Power Backup

Power backup facility provided to Library by UPS Connection.

Digital Library Services
RULES & REGULATIONS
  1. Users must register in the in-out register at the entrance when entering the library.
  2. Generally, registered students, faculty, and staff members may become library members to utilize the college library.
  3. The Library Card may be issued to all library members subject to the rules and regulations of the library.
  4. Users can borrow 03 books on their library account for 15 days. If the book is not returned after 15 days, a fine of Rs. 5/- per day will be imposed.
  5. The barcoded library card should be preserved carefully. Loss of the card should be reported immediately in writing to the library. Issuing a duplicate card may be considered in case of loss upon payment of Rs. 25/- for students but cannot be claimed as a right. The student will be responsible for books found outstanding on the original card even after a duplicate has been issued.
  6. Students must present the library card with books at the issue counter for issue/return.
  7. Borrowers should inspect books and notify the counter assistant if they are damaged before getting them issued; otherwise, they will be held responsible for any damage detected at the time of return.
  8. Loss of books/documents should be reported in writing to the librarian immediately. Library books damaged or lost by the user must be replaced by 1+1 book or the user shall pay double the cost.
  9. Students should consult the OPAC to locate books on the shelves arranged according to the rack numbers in the catalog. In case of any difficulty, library staff may be consulted.
  10. The librarian has the discretion to recall any book even before the due date.
  11. The books/documents borrowed on the card are not transferable.
  12. Only writing materials are allowed inside the reading room. Personal belongings such as loose garments, shawls, umbrellas, briefcases, bags, file covers, etc., must be left at the appropriate place (Property Counter) near the entrance of the library.
  13. Students must observe strict discipline and maintain silence in the library.
  14. Students disobeying the library rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action by the librarian.
  15. A no-dues certificate will be issued only when all books are returned to the library.
