About the Department

The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in the year 2012, approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune with a sanctioned intake of 60 for Undergraduate (UG).  Department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and Laboratories with excellent computational facilities including professional software packages, such as MATLAB. Department also have labs under established Siemens Centre of Excellence (worth Rs. 2.5 Cr). All the courses and modules are certified by Siemens German. It has well equipped R and D setup for Industry consultancy and faculty development program, student’s internship. Department of Electrical Engineering is declared as Energy Swaraj Club on the occasion of World Environment Day 2020. We are the part of Energy Swaraj Movement and contribute to bringing energy sustainability, energy access, energy security, and mitigating climate change by organizing various poster/painting competitions, skits, Seminars, Elocution competitions, Debate competition, Quiz competitions, Slogan competitions, and Essay competitions, etc sponsored by Energy Swaraj Foundation. Department of Electrical Engineering also aims to establish Solar Incubation Centre to help nearby regions to become self-sufficient in generating and fulfilling their own energy needs using solar energy or other renewable energy solutions. Department of Electrical Engineering has submitted proposal to conduct the “Suryamitra Training Program” initiated by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
